My Art from The February Faces Challenge (2023) | Part Two

If you haven't seen it already, here is part one.

I realize I've been thrown off my usual posting schedule, but that is because I have had a lot of things going on in my life. So, the time that I was absent from both my blogs was dealing with those things. Now that I am back, I should say that I have posts planned that aren't drawing related. I plan to do a book tag, as well as posts related to my novels, songwriting, and acting soon. While I normally would not do two drawing posts in a row, this was one post I had fully written, edited, and planned. So, I felt as if I should post it.

I will also be responding to comments from previous posts. I loved reading everyone's comments, they truly made my day during such stressful times. And thank you to Anno for the shout out. 💚

But let's get to the post:

Here is the official (optional) prompt list:

Day #10 Your Idol, I drew Dr. Crusher played by Gates McFadden from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Gates McFadden was the one who inspired me to be an actor, so I decided I should draw her for this prompt.

Day #11 Silhouette, I was a little more creative with this prompt. I wanted to draw the Wax Witch from my novel, Dolls of Wax, Eyes of Glass, but not only a shadow/outline of her. So, I drew her silhouette behind her.

Day #12 Facial Hair, I drew Gimli from Lord of the Rings for practice. I don't usually draw bearded characters so this was fun to draw.

Day #13 Furious,  I drew Cheetah Girl from my super hero story for this one. I wanted to make her look as if she was furious. This is different, because I often draw her looking calm or thoughtful.

Day #14 Freckles, I drew Elm, one of my dryad characters. I decided since Valentine's Day was the day I drew it, that I would give her Valentine's Day accessories.

Day #15 Delighted, I drew Sebastian for this one. I have not drawn him a lot, so I wanted to draw him looking happy.

Day #16 in profile, I drew Fiáina talking to a dragon. Since dragons used to live in Dragons' Province (where the story takes place), I thought it would make sense for her to talk to one.

Day #17 poorly, Ferdinand Diggory from The Haunted Sketchbook is feeling his worst here (due to sleep deprivation, nightmares, and ghosts).

Day #18 Your Current Mood, I best describe this mood as "a million different emotions are going through your head and you're trying to process all of them, while keeping a straight face." So of course, I drew D.I. Elyerin Time experiencing this.

Miscellaneous Drawings #5

Previous parts: #1, #2 #3, and #4

Greetings Adventurers,

I thought it was time to do another miscellaneous drawings post! In regards to later posts...I have two Inktober posts planned, as well as a post introducing my novel for this NaNoWriMo, and a post involving Shakespeare coming soon...

But back to this post...since Halloween is near I sprinkled some spooky drawings throughout the post, along with my Fantasy drawings:
A drawing of Elm, I really like how it turned out.
I thought I would include the sun necklace she wears in the drawing.

A drawing of Karleon, the god of mischief, from Arisias's world.

This is a drawing of Galadriel from Rings of Power. I drew this long before the show came out, since I saw a promotional photo for Galadriel and thought her armor was awesome. My main focus in this drawing was the shading, which I think turned out well.

As for the show, I'm watching it now and am I really enjoying it so far. However, there are bits that bother me (the way the elves act--they're too human for my taste, also don't get me started on their hair).
A drawing of Salissah. I figured out that she is the goddess of the moon, but also the goddess of strategic fighting (fencing, archery, martial arts, etc.), as well as philosophy, much like the Greek goddess, Athena. Whereas the god of the sun is like Ares, and just cares for bloody warfare in general.

I've recently been drawing illustrations for a story with a dog character, and I decided to make another dog character. The dog doesn't have a name yet or a story, but I plan to come up with one later...

I figured with Halloween being this close, I couldn't not include a drawing of this eerie door. I drew this a while ago, and I decided to include a figure hidden in shadow on the other side of the door.
A drawing of Arwen from Lord of the Rings. This was inspired by the scene where Arwen rescues Frodo from the Ring Wraiths.

**Warning eerie drawing ahead**

This is a drawing that I created a while ago. I put the warning up in case viewers don't like spooky things, so they can scroll past it. But, my idea for the drawing, was that the woman had her dead fiancée (or husband) return to reunite with her in death. I am thinking of turning it into a short story sometime.

But this drawing also helped me explore making some of my drawings spookier, which is something I intend to do when I illustrate (and publish) my book Dolls of Wax, Eyes of Glass

**The eeriness is over now...**

Willow the dryad. This is a reimagining of a Pixton character I created. I didn't include it in the post where I introduced her, since it wasn't a majority vote. But I like how it turned out.

Reflecting on My Surgery

Last year I mentioned in a post   that I had a surgery, so I wanted to make a post to reflect on it.

Actually, I had two different surgies for different reasons. One was to put a bar in me (so the indent in my chest didn't affect my lungs), and one to get the bar out, which I've had now for four years. (Side note: I had the first surgery around the time my blog was just beginning).  At that time I didn't really feel comfortable about talking about it (I did write a draft post about it, but I never posted it), but now I would like to talk about it, so that I have something to look back on years from now. And also to find others who have experienced something similar.

After I had the bar removed. the doctor asked if I wanted to keep it. I decided that I wouldn't like to keep it but would like a picture of it. This was partly because I had had it with me for four years (and it was pretty painful to have in my chest for four years), and I was not sure what would do with it. So here's the picture of my bar:

For this surgery thankfully I didn't have to stay in the hospital overnight, unlike my previous one. So, I went home afterwards and mostly lay down while I was in pain. For my previous one, I don't remember a whole lot from it (partly because it was a while ago and partly because of the medication).

But interestingly enough, I did end up taking a picture of my hospital room (in 2017, while I was in the hospital there). I can't comment much on what happened, but I briefly remember being so out of it the entire time. I watched The Hobbit. Lord of the Rings, and Burn Notice while lying in the hospital bed.

Watching The Hobbit

Also, during that time I brought a few of my dolls with me:
Tauriel, Legolas, and Dr. Crusher. And I also brought Sarah and Rebecca with me.

But the surgery that happened in 2021 was different.
Even after the second surgery was over, and my incisions healed, I was still recovering. There were still things that hurt to do, that I had to get myself back into doing. For example, for a while I found it hard to draw on paper. (I could draw digitally, but drawing on paper hurt because of the pressure.) And I found it hard to play piano. But it has gotten easier. Also, in 2021 after my surgery I started doing Tai Chi and hope to do it every day. It makes me feel better not only physically but emotionally. If I am stressed, I do it, and I feel better.

Stories that helped me through my surgeries:

"The Gift" (Star Trek: Voyager)- Seven of Nine in that episode, had a surgery to remove her Borg implants. I deeply related to this, partly because I had just had my surgery when I watched this episode, and what Seven was experiencing was something I deeply related to. Star Trek itself was something that I'd watch as a stress reliever before and after both surgeries. For example, before the surgery (the day before it), I couldn't really think to write and watching something was how I kept my mind off of it.

And while I only discovered this episode in 2021, it was a very happy moment for me, partly because Seven of Nine has been a character I relate to deeply because of how much pain she goes through due to her Borg implants.

Lord of the Rings (The book and the movie series)- I mentioned a while ago that this book reminded me of something that happened last summer, but I never specified what happened last summer that reminded me of this book (and movie) series. Frodo went through a lot of pain in the book and movie mostly due to the one ring, and to the fact that he **spoilers**  was stabbed by a ring wraith. **end spoilers** The character was one I really related to (much like how I related to Seven of Nine).

Frankenstein- While I didn't discover it till after the first surgery,  this book came up in a conversation around the second surgery which started with me saying "I can handle Frankenstein, but I can't handle anything medical." This led my sibling to comment that this sounded like something the monster would say about Victor Frankenstein. I also partly wondered  how surgical the monster's creation was. (Shelley doesn't get into details of how Victor brought the monster to life, so it's really up to your imagination.) I have always related to both Victor and the monster (for different reasons). I suppose I can say that I relate to the monster as someone who has also had a surgery.

How my surgeries affected me creatively:

While I mentioned that I had difficulty drawing after my second surgery, my first surgery actually opened doors for my creativity. I couldn't sing before my first surgery. (I didn't have enough air to do so.) So, it opened the world of songwriting and singing for me. Had I had not had this surgery, I would not now be able to cover songs or write original songs as I do.

I also (unfortunately) had nightmares after my second surgery. However, I have decided to use them creatively in my writing. Because even though they were disturbing, they can make wonderful Gothic novels or even poems.

I have also decided I would like to write a story based on my surgery. One of my novels was actually inspired by my surgery (unintentionally, at the time like my other writing I didn't know I was writing about that). I plan to re-plot this story, given that I wrote a while ago. But it still holds importance to me even today.

I should say that during my first surgery, I was doing Camp NaNoWriMo, and I made sure that I got to the word count goal. Even though I was in pain, I was aware that writing helped me feel better. And in the end I got to the word count goal!

And after my second surgery, once I was feeling better, I felt empowered to re-film the three video projects I had been working on. At the moment I am still editing the last two videos. but I have posted the one I finished working on here

So, even if things seem tough, you can get to your goals in the end.

January Drawings (First post in 2018!)

Hello everyone!:) This is my first post in 2018.
Today, I thought it would be good to start off the new year with a drawing post:

This is a drawing of Celtiere's mother.
I really like her pose, and her red hair against her green outfit.

Oddly I have combined Disney princesses with Lord of The Rings                                                          characters a few times (and I don't really know why).
This one is Cinderella as Lady Galadriel, holding the
"One shoe to rule them all."

Mr. Robertson and Shadow (the black cat).
I really like Mr. Robertson's expression in this picture.

This character (who is the main character, though I don't have a name for her yet)
is from my fairy tale retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
It is set in the Viking times and instead of a beast it is a dragon.

I don't know what exactly this villain's powers are yet,
                                           but I like her headdress.

This drawing is of Rapunzel from my fairy tale retelling
set in Ireland. I really like her freckles.

Happy New Year's! (+ favorite posts and other things from 2017)

Happy New Year's everyone!:)
Last year was amazing (and somewhat crazy!), and I am excited to see what will happen this year (2018).  To celebrate I made a post of all my favorite things from 2017...

Some of my favorite posts from 2017:

                   Character Karaoke tag

Getting characters onto paper parts 1 & 2

My Camp NaNoWrimo novel (2017): The Mystery of the Phantom of Dragonspire court

Movie reviews: Family Friendly The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Movies

       Song Suffragettes

      The Terrible Idea

October Drawings (+ Drawing Requests)

When did we get a fox?

The Mystery of The Stolen Crown (my novel so far)

The Holiday Fairy

Some of my favorite movies from 2017:

                                    Wonder Woman

(Image from Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Wonder-Woman-Blu-ray-DVD-Digital/dp/B0714QRG4Z/ref=sr_1_2?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1513353829&sr=1-2&keywords=wonder+woman )
Rated: PG-13
Though I haven't watched many super hero movies, I like Wonder Woman because it mixes mythology into it, and it has a strong woman character.

                           Beauty and the Beast (2017)

(Image  from Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beauty_and_the_Beast_(2017_film)#/media/File:Beauty_and_the_Beast_2017_poster.jpg)
                             Rated: PG
I have loved Disney's animated classic, and I was excited when they finally made it into a live action movie (I was also excited when Emma Watson was playing Belle).

                                 The Man Who Invented Christmas

(Image from Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_Who_Invented_Christmas_(film)#/media/File:The_Man_Who_Invented_Christmas.png)

                        Rated: PG
This was a really amazing movie to see, especially because it was about a writer, Charles Dickens.
I can relate to the things he does while he is writing (also I am going to do a review of it next December). I loved that he was able to talk to his characters, and that his characters complained to him about things (My characters do that to me all the time). Also another neat aspect of this movie is that it showed how Charles Dickens changed the way we celebrated Christmas.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

(Picture from Wikipedia,
 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirates_of_the_Caribbean:_Dead_Men_Tell_No_Tales#/media/File:Pirates_of_the_Caribbean,_Dead_Men_Tell_No_Tales.jpg)

Rated: PG-13

This is actually a good movie despite what the critics say. Having seen the other Pirates of the Caribbean movies, I thought they did a good job with making new characters for the movie while still keeping Captain Jack Sparrow and Barbossa (along with some minor appearances of Elizabeth and Will Turner).

Sherlock Holmes

(Image from wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherlock_Holmes_(2009_film)#/media/File:Sherlock_holmes_ver5.jpg )

Rated: PG-13
As you can probably tell already, I love mysteries and I have recently gotten interested in Sherlock Holmes. This movie was not released in 2017, but I watched it for the first time this year. I actually listened to the music before I saw the movie, and I was amazed with the special effects, the plot line, and the way they portrayed the story of Sherlock Holmes.

Despicable Me 3

(Image from Amazon,
https://www.amazon.com/Despicable-Me-Blu-ray-Steve-Carell/dp/B072Y3LDZB/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1514151613&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=dicible+me+3 )

Rated: PG

This was a hilarious movie, and I am glad they made a third film (or fourth if you count Minions).
Despite the fact that the trailer was a little weird (and made it look like the movie would not be good), the movie itself turned out to be awesome.

Some of my favorite songs from 2017:

I found many new songs and artists this year. Here are a few of my favorites,

Lament for Boromir performed by Karliene

You can also listen to it on YouTube Here

I love this song because I, as a LOTR fan, love
The Two Towers, and I was excited when Karliene put the original
song written by Tolkien to music.

Disney Princess Medley by Georgia Merry

You can also listen to it on YouTube here

Georgia Merry is one of my new favorite artists!
I like her covers of Disney songs.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Lindsey Stirling

You can also listen to it on YouTube here

Whenever I listen to this song by Lindsey Stirling
I picture detectives solving a mystery.

Will'o The Wisp by Jillain Aversa
You can also listen to it on YouTube here

This is one of my new favorite songs, because the song is about Will'o the Wisps
(which are in Irish and Scottish Mythology).

                                           Two Hands by Kalie Shorr

You can also listen to it on YouTube here

This is one of my favorite country/pop songs by Kalie Shorr
(of course, besides Fight Like a Girl). I like this song because it talks about                                           how over dramatic writers, song writers, actors, etc. can be and how other                                             (non-writer) people react to them.

For the first time in forever (reprise) performed by Georgia Marie & Kayleigh Ann Strong

You can also listen to it on YouTube Here

I thought they did a good job with singing this song (also with the acting, too!).
Even though they were not in full costume and the setting was different,
I still felt like they made it feel like they were the characters from Frozen, which is one of                  the most important parts of acting and musical theatre!

I would also like to give a special thank you to all my followers (on both my blogs). Thank you for giving me feedback on my writing and drawings...
And I hope you all have a Happy New Year!:)

Happy Birthday, Bilbo and Frodo! (+Drawings)

(Note- I had to draw the poster for this post because
the photo editor I was using isn't free anymore)

Today is Bilbo's and Frodo's Birthday! The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings are two of my favorite books, besides a lot of others...

And to Celebrate Bilbo and Frodo's birthday, I drew some drawings of Bilbo and Frodo:

A drawing of Frodo holding the one ring.

This isn't my best drawing of Bilbo, but I like his pose.

I like the angle of this drawing of Frodo.

I like the outfit Bilbo is wearing in this drawing.

Even though it isn't Tauriel's birthday...
I thought it would be good to add her into the post, since
she is one of my favorite characters from The Hobbit.

---------------------------------------------

Hope you enjoyed reading the post.

Who is your favorite character from The Hobbit/Lord Of The Rings?
And how are you planning to Celebrate Bilbo's and Frodo's birthday?

Wednesday Drawings

Hi Everyone,
It's hard to believe August is almost over!

In the meantime here are some of my drawings:

This is a drawing I drew awhile ago
of Eowyn, I think my favorite part
about this drawing is her dress.
A girl and a dragon,
I am not quite sure what the
story of this is going to be.
But it was fun to draw.
I enjoyed drawing this one,
It is of Athena from Greek Mythology.
I had fun drawing her helmet and armor.
And here is a drawing of Ella
From the live action Cinderella movie,
I enjoyed drawing her hair and dress.

A drawing of Atalanta a hero from one of my
favorite Greek myths...
She turned out well.

Hope you enjoyed the post...

Sunday Drawings

Hi everyone, I hope your having a happy weekend...

And I thought I'd share some of my favorite drawings:

Here is a drawing of Samwise and Frodo as Girls...
I thought that there should be more girls in Lord of The Rings
Since I enjoyed drawing the Legolas and Gimli one I decided to draw this one.
And  I think it turned out well.

Artemis from Greek Mythology, I was inspired
by the book Artemis: Wild Goddess of the Hunt.
I enjoyed drawing her moon circlet.
The Lady of The Fairies, I tried to make her outfit look Celtic...
She kind of reminds me of a celtic princess.

A steampunk character, I am not quite sure who he is really.
All I know is that he is a pilot.
This is a realistic drawing I did of one of my characters:
Tess Short.

                                    -----------------------------------------------------

Hope you enjoyed the post, and I will be working on more posts soon...

                                     Which drawing is your favorite?
