God of Mischief | An Original Song

I wrote a song about my character, Karleon. He is a character who I have talked about before, and you may recognize him as the blue haired elf who wished you a happy New Year's. Karleon, if you don't know already is the god of mischief from the Fantasy world I'm world-building. And this song, I envision being played in a tavern, and would often be played during the Festival of Magic in honor of him.

Here is the lyric video for the song:

You can also listen to it here

And below is the audio for the song without the lyric video.  When I posted a song through SoundCloud previously, there were technical difficulties. This time around I have included both the
Soundcloud and Bandlab audio versions of this song. So if you're stuck and they won't play you can click on either, or click on the link below to be taken directly to the pages where they are posted.

💙 Lyrics ðŸ’™

In between worlds was a god,

Under a facade of innocence,

The world was in a prolonged bliss,

For there was no chaos in it,

Come to me, come to me.

 Karleon, come to me,

God of mischief and prophecy,

Come to me, come to me.

The magic from the world was hidden,

To be used by mortals was forbidden,

But the gods hatched a plan,

And the quest to release chaos

Began.

Come to me, come to me.

Oh Karleon, come to me,

God of chaos and prophecy,

Come to me, come to me.

With beauty and slyness,

Did they steal magic,

From the righteous

King and queen,

Things are never as they seem,

Things are never as they seem,

So, magic of all kinds was released,

To mortal, king, princess, peasant, and priest.

So balanced the world became,

And things were never the same.

Come to me, come to me.

Oh Karleon, come to me,

God of thieves and prophecy,

Come to me, come to me.

This was Karleon’s first trick,

Before he became the sly and slick,

God we’ve come to know,

Now go out into the winter snow,

And remember this tale,

And know not to underestimate,

What all of us

Can create.

Oh Karleon, come to me,

God of many things and prophecy,

Come to me, come to me.

Come to me.

Blood Ghost | A Music Video (+ 200th post!)

Greetings travelers,

I've officially made 200 posts on this blog! But onto the topic at hand:

A few posts ago I made a post about an original song I had written called "Blood Ghost" I just                posted the lyric video for it and the audio. However, I decided recently that it would be fun to make a music video for it, so I did:

The inspirations for the music video were actually old horror movies (from the 1950s and 60s) that I often watch with my mom. This was also the first time I've done lip-syncing in a music video, and it was a fun experience. I had a lot of fun acting as the characters who appear in the video (the storyteller and the Blood Ghost), and dressing up as them as well.

And while I already posted the lyrics in the post before, I am going to post them again, so you can follow (or sing) along if you would like (and don't need to open another tab to do so):

👻 Lyrics- ðŸ‘»

Under Southwest Bridge,
Waiting for the Blood Ghost.
It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.

Hatred of light, hatred of blood, hatred of the Blood Ghost.

It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.
It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.

Many tales of old were told,
Of the entity
Who will now forever be
In our memory

It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.
It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.

Searching for shelter, struggling in prayer, fighting against the Blood Ghost.

It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.
It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.

It is said that your children it will take,
in its wake,
where they go,
we never know,

It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.
It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.

In life it was said to be a fair maid,
But she faded and turned into a shade,
Now she haunts looking around for blood,
And many have succumbed,
to its will,
Because an empty shell it wants to fill,

It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.
It is coming tonight with hatred in its eyes.

Last three waiting, last three waiting, last three waiting, waiting, for the Blood Ghost.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What did you like most about the music video? And do you have a favorite horror movie from the 50s/60s?

Happy New Year's! (+ favorite posts and other things from 2017)

Happy New Year's everyone!:)
Last year was amazing (and somewhat crazy!), and I am excited to see what will happen this year (2018).  To celebrate I made a post of all my favorite things from 2017...

Some of my favorite posts from 2017:

                   Character Karaoke tag

Getting characters onto paper parts 1 & 2

My Camp NaNoWrimo novel (2017): The Mystery of the Phantom of Dragonspire court

Movie reviews: Family Friendly The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Movies

       Song Suffragettes

      The Terrible Idea

October Drawings (+ Drawing Requests)

When did we get a fox?

The Mystery of The Stolen Crown (my novel so far)

The Holiday Fairy

Some of my favorite movies from 2017:

                                    Wonder Woman

(Image from Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Wonder-Woman-Blu-ray-DVD-Digital/dp/B0714QRG4Z/ref=sr_1_2?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1513353829&sr=1-2&keywords=wonder+woman )
Rated: PG-13
Though I haven't watched many super hero movies, I like Wonder Woman because it mixes mythology into it, and it has a strong woman character.

                           Beauty and the Beast (2017)

(Image  from Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beauty_and_the_Beast_(2017_film)#/media/File:Beauty_and_the_Beast_2017_poster.jpg)
                             Rated: PG
I have loved Disney's animated classic, and I was excited when they finally made it into a live action movie (I was also excited when Emma Watson was playing Belle).

                                 The Man Who Invented Christmas

(Image from Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_Who_Invented_Christmas_(film)#/media/File:The_Man_Who_Invented_Christmas.png)

                        Rated: PG
This was a really amazing movie to see, especially because it was about a writer, Charles Dickens.
I can relate to the things he does while he is writing (also I am going to do a review of it next December). I loved that he was able to talk to his characters, and that his characters complained to him about things (My characters do that to me all the time). Also another neat aspect of this movie is that it showed how Charles Dickens changed the way we celebrated Christmas.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

(Picture from Wikipedia,
 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirates_of_the_Caribbean:_Dead_Men_Tell_No_Tales#/media/File:Pirates_of_the_Caribbean,_Dead_Men_Tell_No_Tales.jpg)

Rated: PG-13

This is actually a good movie despite what the critics say. Having seen the other Pirates of the Caribbean movies, I thought they did a good job with making new characters for the movie while still keeping Captain Jack Sparrow and Barbossa (along with some minor appearances of Elizabeth and Will Turner).

Sherlock Holmes

(Image from wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherlock_Holmes_(2009_film)#/media/File:Sherlock_holmes_ver5.jpg )

Rated: PG-13
As you can probably tell already, I love mysteries and I have recently gotten interested in Sherlock Holmes. This movie was not released in 2017, but I watched it for the first time this year. I actually listened to the music before I saw the movie, and I was amazed with the special effects, the plot line, and the way they portrayed the story of Sherlock Holmes.

Despicable Me 3

(Image from Amazon,
https://www.amazon.com/Despicable-Me-Blu-ray-Steve-Carell/dp/B072Y3LDZB/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1514151613&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=dicible+me+3 )

Rated: PG

This was a hilarious movie, and I am glad they made a third film (or fourth if you count Minions).
Despite the fact that the trailer was a little weird (and made it look like the movie would not be good), the movie itself turned out to be awesome.

Some of my favorite songs from 2017:

I found many new songs and artists this year. Here are a few of my favorites,

Lament for Boromir performed by Karliene

You can also listen to it on YouTube Here

I love this song because I, as a LOTR fan, love
The Two Towers, and I was excited when Karliene put the original
song written by Tolkien to music.

Disney Princess Medley by Georgia Merry

You can also listen to it on YouTube here

Georgia Merry is one of my new favorite artists!
I like her covers of Disney songs.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Lindsey Stirling

You can also listen to it on YouTube here

Whenever I listen to this song by Lindsey Stirling
I picture detectives solving a mystery.

Will'o The Wisp by Jillain Aversa
You can also listen to it on YouTube here

This is one of my new favorite songs, because the song is about Will'o the Wisps
(which are in Irish and Scottish Mythology).

                                           Two Hands by Kalie Shorr

You can also listen to it on YouTube here

This is one of my favorite country/pop songs by Kalie Shorr
(of course, besides Fight Like a Girl). I like this song because it talks about                                           how over dramatic writers, song writers, actors, etc. can be and how other                                             (non-writer) people react to them.

For the first time in forever (reprise) performed by Georgia Marie & Kayleigh Ann Strong

You can also listen to it on YouTube Here

I thought they did a good job with singing this song (also with the acting, too!).
Even though they were not in full costume and the setting was different,
I still felt like they made it feel like they were the characters from Frozen, which is one of                  the most important parts of acting and musical theatre!

I would also like to give a special thank you to all my followers (on both my blogs). Thank you for giving me feedback on my writing and drawings...
And I hope you all have a Happy New Year!:)

                       ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What are some of your favorite things from 2017? Are you excited for the new year?

The Mystery of the Stolen Crown (My Novel so far...)

Hi everyone,
It's November Novel Writing Month, and I thought it would be a perfect time to tell you a little bit about my novel. Here it is:

Short synopsis:
It all started when the king's crown was stolen, no one knows where it went or who did it.
But that isn't the only thing that happens! Suddenly on the day of the feast the king mysteriously dies, and all clues point to Murder!

Main detectives:
Since the story is taking place somewhere other than Dragonspire court, Detective Inspector Time and Philip are not in this book (but will be in the next book).

Lady Annabelle-

A Half elf Half human with a little bit of fairy, she is the main detective.
She is independent, brave, and notices things that most people wouldn't normally, and she is heir to the throne of Dragonspire court.

Veronica-

Veronica is Annabelle's Lady in Waiting. She often thinks that being a detective is as easy as it looks in books, though often Veronica forgets how dangerous being a detective can be and plunges into danger.  One of her favorite detective characters is Lord Watson a famous fictional detective (which is like Sherlock Holmes).

James-

(James's name will probably be changed later.) A foot-man who works at Dragonspire Court (and came with Annabelle to the neighboring kingdom), he is fascinated with detectives and wants to be one. He is also a good actor, and is skilled at the arts.

            Excerpt:
"Annabelle!?”
Annabelle whirled around with the ink still in her hands, it was dripping on her dress now… and as she twirled around it got onto her father’s robe.
“Yes??” she said.
Her father sighed…looking at his robe which had been ruined by ink, the black spots marring the finery of it.

“Well, I have some very important news, and please just put that ink and pen down.

              Inspiration for the story:

One of my inspirations for this book was a painting (A painting by John William Waterhouse inspired a scene in the first book as well.):
(Image from Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Archer_(artist)#/media/File:The_Death_of_King_Arthur_by_James_Archer_(1860).jpg)
This painting was the inspiration for a few characters in the story and for a scene in the story. The person off to the side holding the goblet became a character in the story a fairy who works at the court. And the girl near the tree (who is most likely Queen Guinevere in the original painting), reminded me of Annabelle. This picture also became part of a poster for the story (which I will put on the novels page once I find the sources for the images).

                                           Inspirational music:
Even though I don't have a whole story soundtrack for this story yet...
I have some music that helped me write:

Puzzles by Robert Carli

You can also watch it on YouTube here

I can always picture this song playing in the background
When Annabelle (or any of my other detectives) talks to the suspects.

Helping Hand from Sofia the First

You can also watch it on YouTube here
Even though none of my characters burst into songs in a musical manner (they do sing ballads every once in a while) or voice their evil plots out loud
and there are no stewards in my story (that I know of).
This song was inspiring probably because it sounds a little like it could be part of a mystery.

How does a moment last forever?

You can also watch it on YouTube here
This song for some reason is Annabelle's theme song. I don't know why, but it suits her.

Opening theme by Robert Carli
You can also watch it on YouTube Here
This is One of my favorite mystery music pieces,
and I often listen to it when I am writing this story.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you enjoyed reading about my novel!:)

Do you have any music that inspired a scene or character in your story? And how is your novel going?

                                            Love,
                                          -Quinley

The character Karaoke tag// A thousand Years

I was tagged by Anna at A world through her heart...Thank you Anna!:)

Of course since this tag has to do with Music. I was super excited to write this post (since I have theme songs for all of my characters) and since one of the questions was
What song would play at your character's wedding?
I figured I should do one of my stories (note: this story is still being plotted out): A thousand Years
This story is a prequel to Tess Short. and it was inspired by Jane Austen and J.R.R Tolkien...

Also sorry for the weird format...Blogger had some issues with the captions and HTML, and at times I had to fix it.

It's Your Character's wedding day what song plays during their first dance?

The first song that is Likely to play at Mr. Short's and Princess Gletta's wedding is

A Thousand Years by Christina Perri

Or you can watch it on youtube here

and the song happens to also be the main theme song of the story...

                            What song(s) describe your protagonist(s)?
There are a few main protagonists in the story...
but I am only going to choose three out of the group

                                                       Princess Gletta
(Original pictures from,
https://www.pinterest.com/explore/viking-hair/?lp=true
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest#/media/File:Adirondacks_in_May_2008.jpg
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/435301120212356460/)

Princess Gletta is brave, strong, and very independent...

though she will have to decide between love and becoming the queen.
In my mind she is like a Jane Austen Heroine,
though I am going to read  more Jane Austen before I write the story...

                                                          These songs describes her personality:

                                            Touch The Sky From Brave

Or you can watch it on youtube here
The reason why I chose this song is
that Gletta is a ranger much like Merida.

A thousand years (Part 2) By Christina Perri (Feat.Steve Kazee)

Or you can watch it on youtube here

I can Imagine this as a song both Mr. Short and Gletta would sing...
though the first two lyrics go with Gletta more...

                                                                   Mr. Short

                  ( original Pictures from http://hero.wikia.com/wiki/Bilbo_Baggins
                       https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bag_End_door.jpg
                       https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Forest#/media/File:Smoky_forest.jpg)

Mr. Short thinks of himself as a "normal" hobbit (at least most of the time),
though he does have a brave and adventurous side which comes out during the quest...
He also is a very good story teller... (And probably will narrate the story along with Tirfendiel, and Gletta)

and I thought these songs did a good job of describing it:
Something Wild By Lindsey Stirling Ft.Andrew Mc.Mahon

Or you can watch it on YouTube here

You'll Be in my heart By Phill Collins

or you can watch it on YouTube here
Though this song reminded me of Mr.short's love for Gletta.

                                                   Prince Tirfindiel

 (original Images from https://www.pinterest.com/pin/305048574732080077/

                    https://www.pinterest.com/pin/384917099388887333/      )

Second in line to the throne of the woodland kingdom...
Though he is not the evil second in line to the throne who plans to overthrow                                       the first in line... No he is quite the opposite.
He actually does not want to be a king at all and would prefer to remain a                                            prince... and never have to think of the idea of ruling a kingdom.
-he has a sword that glows green, which he carries with him at all times.

He also is probably the character with the most bad luck...
He tries to be perfect most of the time...and well ,fails.

Tirfindiel isn't really one for singing he likes background music instead of a                                      song to sing to. Though I can Imagine him humming:

Assassin's Creed III by Lindsey Stirling

Or you can watch it on youtube here

                                     and maybe even....

                                          The sacrifice of Faramir
(Feat. Billy Boyd preforming "The Edge of Night")

Or you can watch it on youtube here
Though he would most likely sing this song silently to himself...
                                    and not out loud.

Any Instrument players or characters with Ties to music?

 (Pictures from
                     https://www.pinterest.com/explore/crystal-ball/?lp=true

         and a screenshot from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GiIPY57TKY )

Well...The Oracle (who is a recurring character in the series) sings her fortunes to people...
Mr.short and Gletta might sing in the story. The Oracle is more of a musician then the other characters:
Metroid Prime credits Vocal Version by Erutan
Or you can watch it on youtube here
This song performed by Erutan, describes The Oracle well, both in her love of music and in her powers of future-seeing.

Go to Songs, for Battle, Romance or Intense scenes?

Hmm...well I doubt anyone would be singing in battle (because my story would become a musical instead of a Fantasy adventure story). But background music for battle scenes would be interesting.
Anyway, here is the song that I think would go well with the end battle scene:

The Call by Regina Spektor

Or you can watch it on youtube here
Though this song would probably show up at the very end of the book...when they defeat the Villain (I have no idea who that is yet.)

                                                      I Tag:

That was fun to write and I feel like I know the characters better.

I am going to post the other tags soon...
it just happened that I was finished writing this one first...

Do you have any theme songs for your characters or your stories?
Which of the characters I mentioned was your favorite?

more drawings

it's been awhile since I posted so, I am going to share more of my drawings with you today

first off...a villain I made, I don't often make villains
so, I am planning on using her in a series once I work out the character and all

this one was partly inspired by a song called  Star of The county down

I drew this after I posted the story, The Forgotten painting. this is the drawing
that goes with the story , I'l be sure to put it  above

the story the forgotten painting story in the stories page

This is a drawing of Celtiere, the boy (half-elf) who is in the painting, but when he is older.

snow white, from Roses in The snow, a retelling of snow white I am writing.

the dryad queen, from chapter 5 of Tess's story.
but this is her before she became queen...
when she was younger...and going on adventures
which I might write about sometime
one of the dryad minstrels

and last but not least the dryad queen being crowned
