I've been busy and not able to post. But, I've been working on my digital art and I wanted to share some of the pieces I made, along with some much less recent artwork.
I've been doing a digital art course, and this was one of the drawings I ended up doing of my character Matilda. I plan to do this style more in the future.
I decided to do a black and white drawing of Ophelia. I like how it turned out.
A character sheet for Cheetah Girl. It was fun to draw her for it.
This is Marigold. I'm currently working on concept artwork for Arisias's story, and this was one of the drawings for it.
This is the water snake woman who appears in Arisias's story.
A drawing of Ferdinand. This is close to how I imagine him appearing, and I like how it turned out
Here is the final part of The February Faces Challenge. It was a fun challenge and I am glad I did it. I think I will do it again next year, since it helped me draw more of my characters.
Here is the official (optional) prompt list:
Day #19 Eyewear, Ocean Guy adjusting his glasses.
Day #20 Cheeky, I didn't do cheeky in the traditional sense. I instead drew Matilda from Dolls of Wax, Eyes of Glass feeling embarrassed. And I drew attention attention to the blush in her cheeks.
Day #21 Thoughtful, I decided to draw Marigold. She's a character from The Mystery of the Body Thief my fantasy/murder mystery, and I decided to give her an outfit redesign.
Day #22 bald, I drew Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation as he was the first character that came to mind with the prompt bald.
If anyone is wondering, I haven't seen the new show Picard. I am disappointed in what I've heard of it. It appears to have gone dark and grim, when instead I feel as if it should be optimistic like Star Trek usually is. In my opinion, they should have gone in the direction that the Leverage reunion show did, which was to have a light-hearted (and similar) take on the characters coming back together. Otherwise, it feels like Star Trek discounts Picard's character arc, that was brought on in particular by Q in "Tapestry."
Day #23 on the telly, I decided to draw a news show, that would appear in the world of my super hero characters, airing a story of about a villain covering the city in slime.
Day #24 hat/headwear, this is a drawing my character when she became the Mother the Elements. I picture this to be when she was younger and had found her purpose as a goddess. This is a drawing of the moment when she is about to put her circlet on her head.
Day #25 old, I drew Elvin the Silver, a wizard Dungeons & Dragons character of mine.
He was inspired by Gandalf from Lord of the Rings.
Day #26 Silly Face, This is another Dungeons & Dragons character of mine, Jinx. I figured this would be a face he would make if he saw something insane happen in one of the campaigns.
(Which does happen most of the time, whether he does it or another player's character does).
Day #27 self portrait, because I didn't feel like drawing myself (I did though enter in a self portrait contest last year, so I am not entirely against drawing myself), I felt like drawing one of my characters holding a self portrait of themselves. So, I drew Gaia, a Tiefling, holding a portrait of herself that I drew in 2020. Combining new art with old art.
Day #28 sleeping, I drew Kira for this one. On her bed is her phone which is playing an audiobook, and the portal to fairyland is open.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Which drawing is your favorite? Have you played Dungeons and Dragons?
Here are some more drawings I made using polls, I had a lot of fun drawing these, unless otherwise stated the drawings in this post came out of majority votes:
I wanted to draw Marigold because I don't have many drawings of her, so I did a poll. And Marigold with a dragon ended up winning the majority vote. This is my favorite drawing of her, because I feel it really captures her personality.
Felix pictured at a masquerade. I had a lot of fun making his mask, because I wanted it to hint at something that happened to him in his story. It was also fun to draw Felix in clothes other than his black suit.
Vallara, a character from the same world as Annabelle (but in a very different part of it) at an archery contest. The last time I drew her was in this post, I felt it was about time to redraw characters from that post, but I was unsure which one so I had the voters vote on who I should redraw and Vallara ended up winning.
Matilda with a ghost (girl). I feel the voters were a lot more nicer to Felix than they were to Matilda, but I know she would enjoy meeting a ghost, so I doubt she would complain. 😊
A drawing of Ophelia and Horatio. I decided to do a drawing inspired by Howl's Moving Castle, and had the pollers vote on which two characters would take the places of Howl and Sophie, Horatio and Ophelia ended up winning.
This wasn't a majority vote, someone had an idea of a crossover, and thought it would be fun if I drew the scene from Howl's Moving Castle but with Ophelia and Gletta. Though Gletta and Ophelia live in completely different worlds, the idea of them ever meeting each other seemed fun to me, so I had to draw it.
My idea for what happened and how they met was that Ophelia used her magic (given to her by gods) to rescue Gletta from being nearly killed in a battle. Gletta is just a bit upset that she was pulled out of the battle when she thought she was going to defeat whoever was trying to kill her. (Hence the reason she is so annoyed at Ophelia).
I also find it interesting that Ophelia takes the place of Howl in both drawings. She isn't like him in terms of personality, but in abilities she is. After all Howl is a wizard and Ophelia has magic, and could be considered a sorceress. (The only thing she doesn't have is a moving castle. 😉)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Which drawing is your favorite? And which would you rather meet a ghost or a dragon?
Hi everyone, last April I made a post about this project so I thought that I should make another post about it considering I am still writing it and I entered it into a writing contest called the Wattys. (Also, this is my 100th post.)
Anyway, here is the post:
Synopsis-
Ever since Horatio woke up from being in a coma, things around the castle have been going from normal to strange.
He is also trying to solve a murder that now is beginning to seem more complex than he thought.
Characters-
Since I made a whole list of the characters before in my last post about this project, I am only going to do some of the main characters and not the minor ones. Horatio
A servant who works in the castle, who lost his memory.
Vonivera (previously known as Veronica.)
Lady Annabelle's lady in waiting, and friend to Horatio and Phillip.
Unlike the other ladies in the castle, Vonivera is a fairy, and she finds it hard to fit in.
Phillip
The captain of the guards and the only dwarf in the castle. Also
a friend of Annabelle's who is helping Horatio and Vonivera solve a recent murder.
Detective Inspector Time & Marigold
From left to right, Detective Inspector Time, Marigold.
Two detectives who are trying to solve the recent murders of royalty. Lady Annabelle
A princess who is in a coma, who fell unconscious at the same time as Horatio.
Excerpts-
Vonivera had very annoyed looking expression her face, that she normally had when she was talking about the gossipers and how they talked about Horatio, and the things he had done wrong.
“I am worrying about it, because I care about you, unlike everyone else in the castle.” she said.
-from Chapter 10, Vonivera to Horatio.
“Are you alright?” Vonivera asked.
“Yes…I’m fine..” Horatio said, as he picked up the burnt fire wood, and swept the chimney, which was sooty but not quite as sooty as it had been when he first cleaned it.
“Are you sure?” asked Vonivera, who like usual was hanging around where Horatio was working. She rather liked to talk to him…
“Yes I’m sure…” sighed Horatio, who rather was concentrated on cleaning the chimney…
“You don’t look sure…” said Vonivera.
Horatio sighed, “That’s because I’m cleaning the chimney!”
- from unidentified Chapter. (Though I am pretty sure it is after the events of chapter seven though, but I am unsure...since the labeling of the chapters got confused.)
You can also read the seven chapters that are up here (though I do plan to self-publish it eventually.) the official story soundtrack-
Last time I posted songs that reminded me of the story. But now here is the official story soundtrack:
You can also listen to it here
Some of the songs in this are songs you have heard before in the previous post.
A sneak peek at future songs that will be added into the story soundtrack (playlist):
This song went perfectly with a scene from my story.
(I am not going to say what scene though ;) )
Money, Money, Money by ABBA
You can also listen to it here
I am not sure whether this song will be added to the story soundtrack or a playlist describing one of my characters, but either way it still reminds me of what the servants may think of royalty and money.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Have you ever entered your book into the Wattys? Also, how was your Camp NaNoWrimo?
Love,
Quinley
