Independence Day Drawings

Happy 4th of July (Or Independence Day) to everyone in America!

To celebrate, here are some drawings I drew. I decided to draw some of the historical figures from the American Revolutionary War. Considering that I only had paintings and engravings to work with, this was somewhat difficult. (But, I will be including links to the references that I used for the portraits)

This is actually the second drawing I drew, but I like the way it turned out.  I think I succeeded in making his facial expression somewhat serious. (The reference I used to draw it was this portrait of George Washington .)

I decided that I would draw Deborah Sampson when she is in disguise. I used the same reference here as I did for the one at the very bottom of the drawings.
In every book I've read, the Patriot uniform she is wearing, is shown as mainly blue, along with different colors, sometimes red, sometimes brown. This is of course referring to the uniform color, not the first Continental Army's clothes, where everyone just wore their normal clothes.
I used this reference to draw Phillis Wheatley,
I like how this turned out.  Even though she didn't fight in the war, I felt it was necessary to include her in this post.

This drawing isn't a drawing of any particular historical figure. It's a drawing of a modern girl wearing a Fourth of July themed outfit. I rather liked how it turned out, especially drawing the sparkler.

This is the first drawing I drew of Deborah Sampson. This is The engraving that I used as a reference for my drawing. This isn't my favorite since I prefer the second drawing (above), since I think it turned out better. Plus I like that in the second she is in uniform as opposed to wearing women's clothes.

But if you don't celebrate Fourth of July (because you live in Ireland, or China, or somewhere else),
here are some drawings that are unrelated to Fourth of July:
This is a drawing of my character, Riona "Fire." She can shape-shift back and forth between a phoenix and a human. I like how this drawing turned out, and I like her facial expression.

I like the way this drawing turned out.

This is a drawing of an elf character who I haven't fully figured out yet,
but I like how it turned out because I tried to make it look as if she was lying down on the grass.

This character doesn't have a name yet, but she is a sorceress.

Story Ideas I have floating through my head that I want to write sometime

Hi everyone,
This is a list of mostly fan fiction story ideas that I had floating through my head. I don't know when I am going to write the stories, but I want to write them sometime. I thought I would share some of them, here they are:

A young Charles Dickens murder mystery
Genre: historical fiction/murder mystery
After I read The Secret of the Sealed Room (a mystery with young Benjamin Franklin), I was slightly disappointed to find out that it was not a book series. I thought it would be fun to write a story involving young Charles Dickens solving a murder mystery with another character, like in both books Wicked Will and The Secret of the Sealed Room. Even though Charles Dickens was not a murder mystery writer, I could imagine him solving a mystery.

Jareth's past and how he became the Goblin King
Genre: fan fiction
What sparked this idea was really the movie Labyrinth, and the fact that Jareth looked human compared to the other goblins. One of the theories for this that I came up with was that he was possibly one the kidnapped babies, whose sibling had either really meant their wish or failed to get him back. And then later Jareth (if that was his name before he became the Goblin King) became the Goblin King.

The Man Who Invented Christmas
Genre: fan fiction/ historical fiction
At the end of the movie, The Man Who Invented Christmas, the story was left at a point where it felt like there could be a second movie about how Charles Dickens wrote David Copperfield. I thought it would be fun to write a fan fiction about this.

Deborah Sampson the musical
Genre: screenplay/ musical/ historical fiction
I have never written a musical before, however, I thought it would be fun to try writing one.
And maybe even a screen play to go along with it. As for the historical figure of choice, I thought Deborah Sampson deserved her own musical. She is not as well known a historical figure from the American Revolutionary War. She disguised herself as a soldier and fought in the war.

Tauriel's Quest
Genre: fan fiction
I was upset about the ending of The Hobbit, and I wanted to know what Tauriel does after it. I decided I would eventually write a fan fiction about what happens to Tauriel after The Hobbit.

April Drawings

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a wonderful day.
Today I thought I should do a drawing post:

A drawing of Pocahontas, I like how it turned out.

This is kind of an experiment.  I decided to try
to combine a photograph I had taken with one of my drawings.
I think it turned out well, however, I wish I had gotten rid of some of the white spots.

This is a drawing of Deborah Sampson, a woman from the colonial era,
who disguised herself as a man and fought in the American Revolutionary War.
I like how it turned out.

This is a drawing of Phillis Wheatley. I like how she turned out,
especially her clothes.

Which drawing is your favorite? Also do you have a favorite historical figure?
