Mermaids

chapter one

The soft sound of the waves , echoed down the beach.

I sat on a chair in the porch of the beach house. It seemed like a normal night nothing unousel at all...sigh If only I could at least spot a mermaid or a merman. 

Then I could prove to my brother they did exist. It didn't matter what he said. 

I looked at my book Mermaids all you need to know , which I had gotten from the sea side gift shop. "It's rubbish" my brother had said, I had ignored him and bought the book with my own money ,whole he had bought candy bars. 

Suddenly I noticed something in the water! A mermaid! I ran down and snapped a picture, unfortunately the thing I had thought was a mermaid turned out to be a sea turtle. Who was probably very surprised at having it's picture taken, well...at least I had taken a picture of something that was from the sea even it wasn't a mermaid. the door of the beach house opened, "tressa it's time to come in" it was mom. "But I haven't found a mermaid yet!" I complained. “I doubt you will find one to night now it’s time to go to bed” Said Mom. “Fine…” I said, and went inside. When I was in my room I opened the book, showing a picture of a mermaid with a dolphin.
